Hello, my name is Alessandro Würgler, I’m a Zürich based Swiss UI/UX designer. Born and raised in Ticino – the sunny, italian-speaking side of Switzerland, – I’ve moved to Toronto in 2008 to attend a 2-year Creative Advertising diploma program at Seneca College, graduating with honors in 2010.
I’ve worked for the following three years at international Canadian-based agencies (RAPP/DBB and Cossette), creating advertising campaigns for national and international clients.
I’ve returned to Switzerland in 2013, and after having freelanced as a web designer, in 2016 I’ve started to work at Publicis in Zürich – the biggest communication agency in Switzerland – as an art director
In 2016, I’ve attended the Swiss Ad School, receiving the Certificate of Advanced Studies ZFH (CAS) in strategic planning and creation.
At MetaDesign as digital designer since spring 2017, I’m responsible for the concept and the design of various digital touchpoints for national and international brands.
In my spare time, I’ve lead the design and coordinated the development of I-Need, an iOS and Android App that provides information to refugees and people in need in a variety of Swiss cities and regions.
I’m passionate about how technology and digital innovations can enhance the power of communicating a message. I have a well rounded experience in the advertising industry – including two national TV campaigns, – and solid branding foundations, but my true strengths lie in understanding the client’s needs, objectives and vision and translating them into well crafted user-centric solutions for the digital space.
I’m a natural communicator, and I believe in the power of human interactions. I thrive in a dynamic and multi-cultural setting, where the best ideas can also come spontaneously during an exchange at a coffee break, but I’ve adapted well into the new work-from-home environment, making the most of the situation. I’m comfortable in presenting ideas and concepts to clients at any level.
I’m proficient with Figma, Sketch and the Adobe Suite, but I’m never afraid in learning a new tool, if it can enhances my skillset and help me produce better user interfaces and user experiences.
I speak Italian, German and English. I know some French and Spanish.
You can find me on LinkedIn, Instagram or you can drop me an old-fashioned email.
